Portneuf Health Care Foundation's mission is to enhance and improve health in southeast Idaho and surrounding areas.Our organizational focus is first, building and strengthening Portneuf Medical Center and second investing in the promotion of health in our region through organized, thoughtful stewardship. Together with our partners LHP Hospital Group, the Portneuf Health Care Foundation owns Portneuf Medical Center. This joint venture governance model provides the benefits of local governance through the Foundation, and the benefits and expertise of a national leader in hospital management and capital through LHP. We believe this joint ownership and governance structure to be the most effective governance structure in hospitals today. Through our partnership in the ownership of Portneuf Medical Center, we have been able to reinvest in the community through many health focused programs. The Chamber Wellness Program seeks to promote wellness and encourage a healthy lifestyle throughout the population in Southeast Idaho. Programs like the Chamber Wellness Program have been proven to improve the overall health of employees, increase productivity and company morale, as well as reduce employee health care costs. We have also been able to create and build the Portneuf Wellness Complex. This is an activity based complex that is free to our community. It includes multi-use sports fields, sand volley ball and basketball courts, a playground, a bike trail, a beach and fishing lake, an 11,000 seat amphitheater and paved walking/biking paths surround the whole complex.
