I began my journey as an entrepreneur when I was 12 years old, as I know many entrepreneurs do. Everyone in my neighborhood was babysitting, & I wanted to make money but wasn’t thrilled about babysitting, so I wrote a babysitting manual, and sold it to all the girls in the neighborhood. It made me some cash, helped other girls’ babysitting businesses grow, and, perhaps most importantly, got me out of babysitting.
I now understand that the system of babysitting is what intrigued me more than the babysitting itself, and that fascination with systems has manifested itself in many ways in my career as I’ve worked with other business owners in coaching and consulting capacities to help them harness the power of systems to transform their businesses. I’ve seen systems done really well – one of my clients quadrupled his revenue in just over a year, and another increased his bottom line by 150% – not by being brilliant, but by implementing systems well.
