Renowned Artist and Illustrator comes to Pocatello

Join the ISU Fine Arts Club and Pocatello Art Center for an evening with internationally acclaimed illustrator and painter Thomas Blackshear II. Supported by the Bistline Foundation, Idaho Community Foundation, and ISU Student Fine Arts Club, this event offers the community a rare chance to learn from a celebrated contemporary artist.

Throughout the evening, Blackshear will share about his insights into painting design, composition, and visual storytelling. Attendees will also get a peek at some of his incredible work throughout his career.

Known for his draftsmanship, dramatic lighting, and powerful narrative imagery, Blackshear’s work has earned national recognition across the fields of illustration and fine art. His paintings have appeared in major museum exhibitions and prestigious publications, and in 2020 he was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame.

This is a rare opportunity for aspiring artists and the Pocatello community to meet a living artistic legend.
