Description

The Idaho Museum of Natural History, on Idaho State University’s Pocatello campus, invites all educators to a Teacher Night August 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. Meet our new Education Coordinator Rob Gay and receive a guided exhibit and classroom tours. Rob will be providing a preview of standards-based curricula/activities that can happen centered around collections/exhibits and how to sign up for fieldtrips and other programming. Light refreshments will be provided. Currently on display at the IMNH This is Idaho and Skulls: everyone’s got one. This is Idaho explores the wild mosaic of mountains, rivers, and plains offering majestic beauty and scattered resources that shape all who live here. We will be exploring what makes Idaho's land unique and how our State symbols tell our story. Our Museum's experts and collections will reveal how the Gem State is a special place in America. Skulls: and you'll be surprised how your's measures up to our menagerie of ancient and modern animals. The skull is a real Swiss army knife, allowing animals to show off, hide, do battle, and consume prey in wildly different ways. Pose in front of the wall of spikes, a showcase of horns, antlers, bumps, knobs, and frills animals use to live their life. From giant saltwater crocodiles to dinosaurs, whales, and bison, you'll never look in the mirror the same way again! Museum entrance is free with your school identification. Family members will receive a reduced admission at the door. For more information about the IMNH please visit isu.edu/imnh or if you would like to chat with Rob his email is robertgay@isu.edu or call (208) 282-2195. We look forward to seeing you!
